The Beginning.

New York City chooses who lives here.

It will chew you up and let you stay or spit you out.

This city is not for the weak at heart.

No one said it would be easy but no one said it would be this hard… but they did say it would be worth it.

I moved to New York with a job at a company which shall not be named.

I moved to New York and lived with a girl and her boyfriend/not boyfriend who shall also not be named.

My new job told me after the first week of working there they mis calculated and were unable to pay my salary.

My new room mates told me after my first week of living there I would have to pay to live there since the girl I thought I would be staying with was not paying to stay there.

I was in quite the predicament.

In the mean time… I was speaking to two men who shall remain nameless, back home who meant the world to me. One decided he couldn’t handle what I was going through, stopped talking to me, and is now dating his best friend. The other told me we had to stop doing whatever it was we were doing. I guess I shouldn’t have been talking to both of them but moving is hard work and I wasn’t official with either. That counts right?

Wait it gets better…

So I was out an about one Friday evening.

My friends and I go to this place in the Lower East Side where you pay forty dollars and get unlimited drinking of wine, beer, and sake, and eating of sushi for two hours.

Greatest deal in New York.

Well maybe not.

But close to it.

So I had to work the next morning and decided to head home.

On my way down the subway steps on Broadway and 34th my phone rang so I took it out. A man was walking up the steps pushed me and grabbed my phone and I-pod out of my hands. The situation could have been worse, but I was devastated.

A guy saw this take place and escorted me to a police officer to help me. I was a bit of a drunken, crying mess, but these things happen.

I spent the night in different police stations writing reports, and then around 5am when this was all over they sent me home.

On the subway.

Yes.

I found this absurd.

To make the story shorter… I got no sleep, verizon couldn’t replace my phone, I went to my friends since I had no way to contact anyone and she got a call from my friend asking if I had lost my phone. No one knew what had happened so naturally I was confused. She proceded to tell us it was all over Facebook. The man who stole my phone had been on Facebook all night being me. Saying how he stole this phone, and how it wasn’t even a good phone, and making fun of me for having the first ever Ipod. I happen to like the first ever Ipod. He then proceded to say he left the phone in a flower pot outside Macy’s since it had a cracked screen and he couldn’t sell it.

There are at least 100 flower pots outside Macy’s.

Yes we found it.

Cheers to social media.

And isn’t that story ridiculous.

Within in a month of living in New York going home seemed like the best choice.

Of course not.

I found a new job.

Found a new apartment.

I got my phone back.

I bought a new Ipod.

And am quite happy when I’m single.

Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. You can.

Here’s to a life in New York City.

<3

Once upon a time…

Once upon a time I lived in Ohio.

I now live in one of the greatest cities in the world. New York City.

I work for a designer here in sales and live on the Upper East Side.

Sometimes life doesn’t get better than this.

I am returning to tumblr to tell my New York City tales.
